THE SESSION

 

            "The session of a particular church consists of the pastor or co-pastors, the associate pastor, and the elders in active service.  All members of the session, including the pastor, co-pastors and associate pastors, are entitled to vote."

 

            "The session is responsible for the mission and government of the particular church."  Book of Order G-10.0101, 10.0102.

 

            "There shall be nine active elders divided into three equal classes, one class of which, shall be elected each year for a three-year term, at a called meeting on the first Sunday in October, unless another time is designated by the Session.  No elder shall be eligible to serve on the Session a full or partial term after having served one full term, nor be eligible to be elected to a new term until one year shall have elapsed from the expiration of the last term for which he/she was elected.  However, he/she shall be eligible to serve one full term immediately after having served a partial term."
