About Whit

Whitelaw “Whit” Hunt is a 4th generation Presbyterian and has been an Elder since the 70's. He has lived in Plainview since 1972. Whit went to High School at Richmond Academy, Augusta, GA, received his BBA at Baylor University, received his Master's Degree from Trinity University and completed a Texas Secondary Educator Certificate at Texas Tech University.

Whit is an adjunct Professor of Business at South Plains College and a Retired High School CTE (Business) teacher. His other previous work experiences include serving as a Healthcare CEO, an Airport FBO Operations Manager, a National Director of Training and Executive Development (Healthcare Corporation), and a Multiline Insurance Agent. Whit is a veteran  of the USAF, having served during the Vietnam war, and is active in the community, having served on multiple civic organization boards. He is married to Barbara (Elder), has two daughters (Elizabeth, Jeanette), and 2 grandchildren (Bryce and Brooke).

Property and Grounds

The Property and Grounds Ministry Team is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, repairs and improvements of the church building, equipment and grounds; custodial work; maintenance, repairs and improvements of the manse, its equipment and grounds; providing adequate insurance coverage; and reviewing and recommending any revision in the Building Use Policy.
